Scholarships

Scholarships for students entering Year 4, 7 and 10 in 2019 are now open

All scholarships provide partial remission of tuition fees for the Junior School years (to end of Year 6), Middle School years (to end of Year 9) or for Senior School years (to end of Year 12). 

The following scholarships are available: 

MIDDLE AND SENIOR SCHOOL - ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS (entry to Year 7 or Year 10) - Applications close Friday 9 March 2018

Scholarship testing will occur at The Cathedral School on Saturday 17 March 2018. Click here to register for the Edutest Scholarship Test. An online payment of $85 will be required to cover the costs of administering the tests.

Please download and complete the Academic Scholarship Application Form and send it to the Registrar together with the supporting documentation as requested.

Students are selected on the basis of their results in the Edutest Scholarship tests and previous school reports. Recipients will be expected to maintain commitment to studies and high levels of academic achievement throughout the tenure of the scholarship.

MIDDLE AND SENIOR SCHOOL - OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS (entry to Year 7 or Year 10) - Applications close Friday 9 March 2018

Boarding Scholarship – Boarding Scholarships are offered on the basis of an application and interview, plus previous school reports and a personal reference. Applicants must demonstrate a positive attitude to studies and extracurricular involvement. Recipients will be expected to maintain commitment to studies and make a significant contribution to boarding life at The Cathedral School.

Please download and complete the Boarding Scholarship Application Form and send it to the Registrar together with the supporting documentation as requested.

Church Scholarship – Church Scholarships are offered on the basis of an application and interview, plus a reference from a parish priest within the North Queensland Anglican diocese. Applicants must demonstrate Christian values and active participation in parish life at their local Anglican Church. Recipients will be expected to maintain commitment to studies and make a significant contribution to Christian life at The Cathedral School.

Please download and complete the Church Scholarship Application Form and send it to the Registrar together with the supporting documentation as requested.

Music Scholarship – Music Scholarships are offered on the basis of an application and audition, plus a reference from a current music teacher. Applicants must demonstrate excellence on their principal instrument and commitment to music. Recipients will be expected to make a significant contribution to the music program at The Cathedral School.

Please download and complete the Music Scholarship Application Form and send it to the Registrar together with the supporting documentation as requested.

Sporting Scholarship – Sporting Scholarships are offered on the basis of an application and sports assessment, plus a reference from a current sports coach. Applicants must demonstrate good athletic ability plus commitment and achievement in selected sport/s over an extended period.  Recipients will be expected to make a significant contribution to the sports program at The Cathedral School, including participation in one of the school's major team sports (rowing, rugby or netball) in the Senior School years.

JUNIOR SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS (entry to Year 4) - Applications close Friday 18 May 2018

Scholarship testing will occur at The Cathedral School on Saturday 26 May 2018. Click here to register for the Edutest Scholarship Test. An online payment of $85 will be required to cover the costs of administering the tests.

Students are selected on the basis of their results in the Edutest Scholarship tests and previous school reports.  Recipients will be expected to maintain commitment to studies and high levels of academic achievement throughout the tenure of the scholarship.

INDIGENOUS SCHOLARSHIPS (entry to Years 7 - 11) 

The Cathedral School is able to assist promising indigenous students through scholarship programs offered by Cape York Leaders Program (CYP) and Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF). Please see the Indigenous Scholarships page for further details.

All scholarships are reviewed annually to ensure recipients continue to meet their obligations. The Principal may cancel any scholarship if conditions of the offer are not being met.
