Debating

 

The Interschool and Interhouse debating competitions provide an excellent opportunity for students to develop their public speaking, debating and teamwork skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

At Interschool level, students compete in one of three divisions: Senior (Year 11 & 12), Junior (Year 9 & 10) or Year 7/8 against teams throughout the Townsville region. The Cathedral School has a strong tradition of debating with teams regularly making it though to the final stages of competition

The Interhouse competition is an excellent way for novice debaters to gain some experience and for the Seniors to develop coaching and leadership skills.
