Patients of the Townsville Hospital will think Christmas has come early when carolers from The Cathedral School’s Music Department visit on Friday 22 November.
The students from Year 7 to 11 will perform a variety of well-known Christmas carols with the aim of spreading some holiday cheer. Following the concert, patients will be able to join in on the singing with some of their favourite Christmas songs.
The School’s Leo Club will also join in on the festivities with one of the students dressing up as Santa Claus and handing Christmas cards to the patients.
Acting Director of Music, Ms Nancy Watkinson said “This is a great opportunity for our students to give something back to their community. We recognise that being in hospital at any time of the year is tough but especially at this time of the year. We hope that our Christmas carols might brighten their festive season.”
“This visit is also a way of saying thank you to the staff and volunteers for their work by sharing our love of music with them” added Ms Watkinson.
The Cathedral School Music Department will perform at the Townsville Hospital from 10.30am.
